Hamilton County, Indiana was named a winner in the 2011 Digital Counties Survey, which highlights innovation and achievement. The awards are presented by the Center for Digital Government and Government Technology. Hamilton County placed 10th in the nation in the 250,000-499,999 population category. It was the only one of Indiana’s 92 counties to be named on the 2011 list in any population category!
There are a lot of exciting things going on to position Hamilton County as a technology leader in the Midwest. One bold step is the development of the Technology Association of Hamilton County, led by the Hamilton County Alliance, the economic development organization for the county. The creation of the Technology Association demonstrates the county’s commitment to attracting and supporting technology firms.
The Technology Association was created to elevate technology’s presence in the marketplace and create opportunities to help the companies grow. Key elements of the organization’s mission are related to:
- The provision of best practice information to members,
- Provide a forum for communication and networking,
- Facilitate collaboration/partnerships among member firms,
- Assist in the attraction of new technology firms to Hamilton County.
