Thanks to the following companies for helping the winner of the EAC’s 3rd Annual Business Plan Competition get her business started. Their donations provided, Heidi Wolfe of Lollies Candy Shop, a consulting package valued at almost $17,000 to help her get her business started!

Lollies Candy Shop Wins 3rd Annual Community Business Plan Competition

Lollies Candy Shop was named the winner of the third annual Entrepreneurship Advancement Center’s Community Business Plan Competition. The company, which provides specialty candies and unique gifts, took home a consulting prize package worth almost $17,000.

Lollies Candy Shop, founded by Heidi Wolfe, will be located in downtown Fishers. Lollies will feature candies made in Indiana as well as wrapped, nostalgic and seasonal candies along with tempting chocolates. Lollies will also feature international flavors and candies for special dietary needs. Seasonal and holiday gift baskets are available now by contacting mrsheidiwolfe@gmail.com.

“The feeback I received through EAC’s competition strengthened my business plan and helped lay the ground work for the future success of my business,” said Heidi Wolfe, founder of Lollies Candy Shop.

“It was a privilege to work with each of the contest entrants,” said Cathy Langlois, executive director of the EAC. “While there can only be one winner, we’re excited to work with all of the companies who entered as they start their businesses. We know that many of these companies will continue to evolve and become an important part of creating a strong economy and quality communities where people want to visit and live.”

2013 Young Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition

The Young Entrepreneurs’ Business Plan Competition is sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Advancement Center with the support of local businesses. The competition provides Indiana students with an opportunity to develop and present a business plan to start a new business or to offer a new product or service within an existing business. Entrepreneurial business ideas are strongly encouraged. Participants will prepare a written business plan based on research and will request financing for the plan through a role-play interview with business professionals.

3rd Annual Business Plan Competition

The Entrepreneurship Advancement Center (EAC) is hosting its 3rd Annual Business Plan Competition to encourage new business creation and existing business growth.

Who can participate? The competition is open to anyone who wants to start or grow their businesses including individuals, families, teams, and existing businesses is invited to develop and submit a business plan.

All participants receive:

  • Half-day business planning workshop on April 19 from 8-11:30 a.m.
  • Access to an online business plan outline
  • Feedback on your business plan from local experts

Winner Receives:

A consulting package to launch or grow their business.

Key Dates:

  • April 16:  Deadline to register for the competition
  • April 19: Half day business planning workshop
  • August 13: Completed business plan due to EAC
  • August 31: Finalists announced
  • September 20: Final plans due

Jessica Beer and Tonya Bergeson-Dana have developed natureNURTURE to be an engaging space for families with young children that includes an interactive studio, art activity center, café, lounge, and library. natureNURTURE offers activities to nurture the mind, body, family, and community. They plan to open natureNURTURE in the summer of 2012 in Carmel.

Business owners wishing to compete in our business plan competition took part in a Business Plan workshop taught by Lorraine Ball earlier this week.  They also took a moment to tell us a bit about their businesses. Here are just a few of the excerpts from the session.

If so, you’ll want to enter the EAC community-wide business plan competition for a chance to win a consulting services package valued at $15,000! All those who register are invited to attend a half-day workshop on business plan development and will receive a free online business plan outline. In addition, all business plans will receive feedback from local experts!
